Sand is one of the oldest resources of Bheramara upazila. Many people in this town surrounded by the rivers Padma and Gorai earn their livelihood by sand mining. There are many sand fields (balu mohal) in Bheramara. Analysis of the soil here shows loamy soil mixed with thin and coarse sand mixed with silt, mud, ballast and gravel. The soil of this upazila is naturally very fertile and suitable for crops. The important natural resources of Bheramara upazila of Kushtia district are sand and fish of Padma river.
